Sláinte! We all know what the month of March means… a full month of Saint Paddy’s
Day celebrations! And why not? Even if you’re not personally Irish, there is a rich and
fascinating history to acknowledge and learn about, and plenty of fun drinks to enjoy.

We all know the beloved Shamrock Shake, but have you tried a shamrock shot? It’s super
easy to make. All you need is Irish cream, vanilla vodka, and green creme de menthe. Lucky for
you we are doing a price special on Bailey’s Irish Cream! The 750ml bottle is down to $29.99,
and for those of you going all out this year, we have the 1.75L bottle for only $49.99! These
sweet and creamy shots are best when chilled down, so throw your shot glasses in the freezer for
half an hour before you mix up your delicious green concoction. Throw a bit of whipped cream
on the top just for fun, and enjoy!

If a shamrock shot isn’t your thing, don’t worry. You can make yourself an Irish old
fashioned by swapping out your typical bourbon for an Irish whiskey. Whether it’s Slane
($32.99), McConnell’s ($24.99), or Keeper’s Heart Irish Bourbon ($37.99), you can’t go wrong
with this twist on a classic cocktail.

Speaking of Irish whiskey, this month’s historical spotlight is all about the most iconic
lady-pirate there ever was, Gráinne Ó Máille, more commonly known in English as Grace
O’Malley. Not only does she have a fantastic Irish whiskey named after her that we stock for
only $31.99, she is regarded as the “Pirate Queen”. She ruled the Irish Sea, upheld the Ó Máille
dynasty after her father’s death, commanded the respect of the men in her charge, developed a
working relationship with Queen Elizabeth I of England, and had the power to negotiate on the
behalf of her family’s freedom and land ownership. Despite having passed away c. 1603, she is
still acknowledged as an iconic Irish heroine.
